IFS Intensives

What is an Intensive? An intensive is an opportunity to take a deeper dive into your healing work. Weekly, bi-weekly, even monthly therapy can be a great thing to have as a part of your healthcare commitment and routine and a lot of healing is possible within this model.

So, why an intensive? The why of an IFS intensive is that I (or an IFS therapist) may not be a part of your routine healthcare and you may not want to end that work or the relationship you have with your current therapist or care provider but you are interested in IFS and/or you feel stuck or like you are looking for some deeper healing work or you sense that you aren’t quite able to reach in and make contact to that nagging or repetitive or constant feeling or voice or sensation. Or perhaps you’ve heard about, maybe even looked into psychedelic intensives but aren’t so sure about the psychadelics. Or you may not be local, you may be coming from out of town. These are only some of the reasons. Your reason may be unique to you.

How is an intensive structured? Depending on if you are local or from out of town, after our free initial 10-15 minute phone consultation, we will begin with an in-person or online 90 minute session to, together, get a sense of our area of focus and also to see if you are a good candidate for an intensive. After this session I may recommend another follow up session (50, 75 or 90, depending) to make sure that your system is ready for the deeper dive. Then we decide on how much time for the intensive. This may be a financial decision, such as I have this much to spend or this may look more like I want to schedule this many hours with you. Depending on the number of hours we will agree to pauses in our work to take breaks. For longer intensives this may include overnight, resuming the next day. For those of you who are coming from out of town, for an additional fee, you may choose to book an overnight in the small apartment adjacent to my office. **please do not book through airbnb. this is just to give you a sense of the accommodations. you’ll book directly with me as a part of your intensive package. to preview the apartment:

Does this make you my therapist? No. You will sign a contract that clearly states the parameters of our relationship and the purpose of intensives. If you are already my client, as in we already have an established relationship and meet on a regular to a semi-regular basis, you will remain my client and this will be an additional service I provide.

What are your credentials? I am soon to be Level Three trained (April 2024), the highest of training levels for IFS. I am also Certified with the institute as a Certified IFS Therapist. This means that I have met their standards of practice. I also have and will continue to work as a Program Assistant for the IFS-Institute. This means that I assist the Lead and Assistant Trainers run the trainings and teach the model to participants within the small group practice sessions with approximately 10 other program assistants each training I am apart of. And because I love learning, I have and will continue to take IFS workshops in certain areas/spokes of the model.
